The Ten Tors Challenge

The Tavistock & District Youth Forum took part again in the 2009 Ten Tors challenge and I helped to train one of the teams. We were given three places for the challenge: 35, 45 & 55 mile teams.

I helped to train the 35 mile team. We began training with eight 14-16 year olds. Out of those eight we selected six for the event. They performed really well and finished the event at the very good time of 11.23.

The Ten Tors challenge is a two day event for teams of six young people aged 14-16 for the 35 mile event, 16-18 for the 45 mile and 17-19 for the 55 mile.

Training for next year's event will begin on 7th February. The event will take place over the weekend of 15th and 16th May.
